NYY 6, MIN 1

Did anyone else have any clue that the Yankees would flatten the Twins like that? I mean, it's not a huge shock that they won, but that the Twins just could not get anything going against them was a surprise -- that the second and third Yankee starters held up so well.

Then again, not a ton of people picked the Yankees, either; they don't have the support they had last year. But those who did pick them made out like bandits tonight. And we have a completely different leaderboard!

Your points:

NYY - 13 (3 for the win, 2 for the blowout, 6 for the division, 2 for the series sweep)

Cano, R - 4
Jeter, D - 2
Mauer, J - 1
Rodriguez, A - 1
Swisher, N - 6
Teixeira, M - 1

Hughes, P - 13

Standings and eliminated picks after the jump.

And now we bid goodbye to the following picks:
MIN
Mauer, J
Thome, J
Liriano, F

But let's say hello to our new pool overlords! Money finishers in bold, but as Joe can tell you, bold is fleeting...

75 - Aaron
74 - Maria II
72 - Tom
71 - D. Peps and W. Torms
69 - Joe
64 - John
63 - Broomfield/Romine
62.67 - Samantha "Assault On Precinct 8th Place" Bunting II
61.67 - Hilary and Keith
60 - Angela

58 - Tim and Lauren
56.67 - Jeremy
55.67 - Ben II
52.67 - Matty G
52 - Ben I
50 - Samantha I
49.33 - Sarah II
46.67 - Jill Love
41.67 - Jill Hate
27.34 - Sarah I
26 - Maria I

A few changes there, as you can see, although I remain a cellar-dweller. That one slate of mine is pretty much toast, but nobody else should lose hope. (Welllll...maybe Jill Love and Matt. Sorry, friends.)

Tomorrow, all three remaining match-ups are in play. As of this writing, TB @ TEX 1 PM ET; SF @ ATL 4:30 PM; PHI @ CIN 7 PM. This may move around depending on whether it matters that Twins/Yanks didn't go to a Game 4, but I doubt it; that game was scheduled for 8 PM.

Don't know if anyone's going to watch the games themselves -- NFL, after all -- but I'll have updates periodically.

Worst part about the Yankees win? Another week of MLB Network dubbing over NYY highlights with the WCBS radio feed. Even Yankee fans hate John Sterling, right? Right?

I switched back to Met fandom for a number of reasons, but "the GRANDY man can!" was really high on the list. In fact, it may have been most of the list.

While we're discussing MLBN: Kevin Millar's estrangement from decaf. Has he always been that "intense"? It seems worse the last couple of weeks.
