BOS 13, COL 1

I don't know how that hack Joe Buck refrained from making this joke, but I have no such compunction: That was Rock-y, all right.

[rimshot]

Sorry. Colorado's position players looked rusty in the field and overmatched at the plate, and got zero help from the pitching staff. Another Mays-esque night for young Pedroia, and the pool lead is wrested from Tom with 3 for Boston and another 9 for Beckett.

96: Broomfield/Romine
93: Tom
81: Aaron C.
79: Matt, Aaron M., Lauren
77: Jill
44: John
42: Maria Trips
16: Angela, who needs Dice-K to throw at least two no-hitters in which he strikes out every batter

Jimenez v. Schilling tomorrow, 8:30 ET. According to one of FOX's usually irritating stats, several of the teams to get blown out this badly in Game 1 went on to win the WS. I still don't think much of Colorado's chances, especially now that we know they won't have Wakefield to kick around.
