LAD 10, NYM 2

Me, a week ago: "This is the preferable result for Mets fans, and for fans of pool chaos; I am both, but I didn't call this outcome -- and the rising of Dodger pitching to this occasion is somewhat worrisome for Met partisans."

Leaving aside the paradox here -- the team I believe is more beatable by MY team has to not get beaten by OTHER teams -- I still think based on what we'd seen at that point that the Mets "wanted" the Dodgers. What we had not seen at that point was a horrifying-to-opposing-pitchers line-up find its gear, which it has; or the Cinderfella Mets running out of gas, which I think they may have. Hope I'm wrong, hope they at least get to go back to L.A.

And the other preferable result, from a pool-chaos standpoint, was a couple of picks that looked like busts as week ago changing the conversation almost completely in like two days.

...Almost.

Betts 8 (!)
Freeman 0
Hernandez T 0
Ohtani 4
Smith W 1

Iglesias 1
Lindor 2
Nimmo 1
Vientos 5

Vientos's ongoing campaign for pick MVP continues apace/allows Bauer OMG to hold off the field...for now:

73 Bauer OMG
61 MArbour 2 and Shotwell 1
60 Cameron Deux

Everyone else after the jump...

58 Bauer Snooze
57 JArbour Winklepleck LLC
51 Quinn

46 Stempel and Johnson
45 SDB Safe
42 Cameron Un, Drake, Wonsetler, and Shotwell 2
41 SDB Sorry and Tormey

38 Dunn and Bingham 2
36 Reid 2 and Fell 1
35 Fell 2
33 Reid 1
30 Bingham 1

24 MArbour 1 and Brady

As always, if the math (or anything else) looks wrong, let me know!

I have theater tickets tonight so I'm unlikely to see much of either of today's games, which is perhaps a blessing (hee/sigh), but for the rest of you, the Mets try to stave off elimination this afternoon at 5 PM ET; NYY/CLE starts at 8 PM. Good luck to all, and I'll see you back here late.

We need to not lose at home today! 5 straight playoff eliminations have been at home (the last 3 of which I’ve seen). Need to send the fans off with good vibes even if a return later in the month is a stretch. Energy in the ballpark has been so meh this week because of goings-on on the field... Ya gotta believe!

It HAS seemed pretty flat vibes-wise, which is a bit odd to me; it's not THAT cold out.

Lots of playoff-only fans perhaps. NLDS was amazing though. Weather is fine. Not much to cheer for 😢 and late nights. Also hate that they totally change the in-between inning action from regular season to mostly the damn DJ and cheerleading. I want kids and dumb games!
