There were a lot of ways last night could have gone for L.A.; I didn't have this way on my list. I was figuring something more like "Pads put up 4 early, Dodgers rally, Padres put up another 4, Freeman pinch-hits bkj9 Z¸¸." What does that last notation mean? I don't know, but the foster kitten Has Opinions about the playoffs, and hurtled onto my desk to share them.
Bodie's blogging aspirations aside, this authoritative away win seems good for the Dodgers' chances -- and good for the pool, which finally saw some theoretically/historically smart but underperforming picks put up big numbers last night.
Betts 5
Freeman 0
Hernandez T 2
Ohtani 1
Smith W 4
Arraez 1
Machado 0
Merrill 0
Tatis Jr. 2
Fernando fils continuing to rack points towards an eventual BPP MVP crown; Betts leapfrogging all the other L.A. picks. New look for the standings, too.

28 SDB Sorry, the twin slates at JArbour Winklepleck LLP, and Crase
26 Reid 2, Shotwell 1
25 Stempel
22 Cameron 1
21 Dunn, Drake
20 SDB Safe, Quinn, Brady
19 Fell 1 and Reid 1
18 Wonsetler 2
17 Tormey

Crase had a zombie shot at some money until yesterday's last game, but with no picks left and having departed from the money, that slate won't appear in future updates.
(Not sure about my math/think Bodie accidentally deleted some points? LMK!)
Hard to say what those future updates have in store for the rest of us since, as previously noted, the picks were lighter on AL teams; those picks mostly center on the Yankees; and the most popular pick there was acidly dismissed as "Mr. July" by one BPPer in a text last night...and I could sit and re-sort the spreadsheets all day, because I have problems, but the most chaotic outcomes will have to wait until Friday.
(cut to: RamÃrez setting off a string of firecrackers in the BPP lounge with three home runs or something)
Possible elimination games tonight in the AL, starting at 6 PM ET on TNT as the Guardians try to stay alive in Detroit; the marquee game is on TBS at 8, with the Yankees trying to lock it down at the K. Good luck, everyone!
[edited 10 AM ET to restore MArbour 2 to his just-off-the-pace glory -- this is why I ask y'all to check my work!]

Is my MArbour 2 slate missing from this list? I think it has 29 points?
Yep, sure is! My eye bounced off it for some reason; updating now/apologies!
