I'm sure I could chase down the stats that would confirm (or overrule) this impression -- run differential, probably -- but I just feel like the Yankees have looked worse than their record. It's why I don't love their chances in the postseason; mostly it's the pitching, partly it's the injuries, but there's just been the sense since midsummer that if Judge and Soto aren't both hitting, they don't have the horses. Like, "Berti playing first for the first time in his career" don't have the horses.
Not to take anything away from KC; you still have to go out there and do the thing. (Berti was fine too.) But the Yankees aren't making it look real hard.
Points!
Witt Jr. 0

We have some drag-assy totals thanks to underperforming picks, more than I think we usually see -- but with all the LDSes tied 1-1 (apparently for the first time in history?), there's still time for some of these slates to light a fire under it.
I won't be lighting a fire under tomorrow's results until late; I'll be at Citi Field for the Mets' first home game in what feels like a month. If you see any typos/math errors in the meantime, let me know! NL action resumes at 5 PM ET with PHI/NYM; the west-coast game starts at 9.
