BPP 2018 in review

It's fun to look back at/repent on at leisure the picks each year, especially the scoreboard-busters nobody saw coming. What we did see coming was the dominance of Machado, Martinez, and Turner, who led all wire-to-wire picks with 26 points...but George Springer, who last played 10 days ago, still led ALL picks with 29 points, and almost kept several zombie slates in it.

For the Classic, Turner was the pool MVP with 10 TB, followed by Betts and Martinez with 9 each...but our Shane Victorino Award for Most Productive Unpicked Player goes, of course, to Steve Pearce with 14 TB and a 1.667 OPS.

Bellinger didn't take a collar in the World Series, but he's still the pool LVP with but a single TB. And not for nothing, but Machado didn't exactly kill it in the last five games either. Maybe if he were less focused on stomping on first basemen's heels...

A snapshot of the final full standings, after the jump.

Dave Sr.'s final lunge at the top half of the standings fell just short, but if the series had gone 7...

Alas, it didn't. That's a wrap on the 2018 season, and on the 2018 pool. Payouts will go out tonight; thanks again for playing, everyone, and we'll see you back here in 11 months.

Thanks for another great year of BPP, Sars!

I so hoped those high Astros points would be enough to keep the zombie slates in, just for the humor of it! Special thanks to my baseball boyfriend Springer for being a hitting machine.

Fun postseason as always, thanks for running this again, Sarah!

My pleasure as always!

Thanks again for the pool! Would have been more fun if I beat my partner (I usually do. Thanks for nothing Bellinger & Betts) but the pool makes the games more fun ("give me some damn points" is something I'll frequently yell out at the tv). Happy off-season to all and good luck to all poolers teams next year.

Payments have gone out! 113 days until spring training; last one out, hit the lights, will you? :)
