NYY 9, TOR 6

So many moments in October when you're torn between what's good for the pool and your own rooting interests...but everything more or less aligned last night. The folks at the local were happy; the pickers were happy; and I personally was happy for Aaron Judge for coming through in a big moment. That should keep the Bronx faithful off his neck for [checks notes] 18 hours, right?

A couple of...disap-POINT-ments here (Springer), but a lot of other points to go around:

Bichette 0
Guerrero Jr. 5
Kirk 0
Schneider 2
Springer 0

Belli 3
Chisholm 4
Judge 7
Rice 0
Stanton 1

Bauer still barely in front as we stare down the barrel of another four-game day -- maybe? Not sure the weather's going to cooperate here in the northeast -- so here's your complete standings, for now.

43 Bauer Snoozical
41 Izzo 2 and AK Uno
39 Izzo 1 and Quinn 2

38 Mectomy and Mopsiukas 1
35 Cameron Prime

Everyone else after the jump...

33 Bingham Prime
32 MArbour 1
30 AK Dos, Dunn 2, Fell 1, Cameron Second, and Yuhan

29 Drake 2
28 DGB
27 Shotwell 1 and O'Reilly
26 Bauer Fun and Green

25 Winklepleck 1
24 Fell 2
23 Reid Omega
22 Wonsetler 2 and Crase AL
21 Shotwell 2, Brady, and Wonsetler 1

19 Bingham Emo and Reid Alpha
18 Dunn 1
16 Drake 1 and Winklepleck 2
15 The Estros

13 SDB Prayers
12 Mopsiukas 2
10 Tormey

8 JArbour and MArbour 2
5 Quinn 1
3 Crase NL

Don't forget to check my math/data entry; Wonsetler spotted a biff last night (guess his dumper's not THAT big; heh). Didn't affect the standings, but it's still good to have other eyeballs on it...

...especially with a four-top of possible eliminations today! As follows:

  • 3 PM ET: Seattle tries to finish the Tigers in Detroit, FS1
  • 5 PM: Crew tries to finish the Cubs in Chicago, TBS
  • 7 PM: Jays try to finish Yanks in the Bronx, FS1
  • 9 PM: Phillies try to do something, anything! against the Dodgers in L.A., TBS
And looking at the forecast, we should actually be okay for all four -- the rain that muddled the schedule in Detroit last night is now passing through NYC but is supposed to clear off by midday. Hold onto your butts and good luck!

After every team I rooted for lost in round one, the fact that every team I’m rooting for is currently winning in round two, is a nice change of pace. But I won’t count my chickens before they’re hatched…
