Pretty much. (Can someone find me that Brian Kenny STOP BUNTING shirt, though? Or maybe I should just use the same graphic and print my own with CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP.) I mean, did anyone even know Kershaw had teeth?
I do feel bad for Nats fans, to the extent that someone who had to put up with Murphy losing ground balls in the sun in the infield for however many years (and...not hitting like that even remotely until 2015) can feel bad for them. Cubs fans, meanwhile, should be delighted. They can piranha this series and let the bones sink to the bottom in five games tops.
A few slates will have to do that as well. First, last night's points.

And those four are out. Are you out? Standings and recalibrashe, after the jump.

And here's where we part ways with a handful of poolies. These slates have no picks remaining and no realistic shot at the leaders unless Jon Lester strands 53 people on base:

Thanks so much for playing...and if it makes you feel any better (it won't), it's pretty unusual for a year in which the Cubbies make the postseason that this many of us still have at least a couple of picks.
About a dozen additional slates can't hope to finish in the money either -- only one non-unique pick left and miles off the pace -- but a harder cull can wait until one of the LCSes ends. Which, with due respect to the Dodgers and their refusal to give up, is not going to be too long from now.
Moving on to the AL pennant fight, which gets underway at 8 ET on TBS, Estrada v. Kluber on the hill. Quiet few days for the AL-heavy slates, so we'll see where we sit come Sunday.
Until then: rage? dread? arithmetic points of order? Let it out in the comments.

No hope for me for the money but at least I beat my partner (by making a sentimental pick of Lester), which I can hold over him until next year. :)
I do enjoy seeing how the couples are doing relative to one another. Since I'll be playing cards in the basement with my own spouse this year you have to find the fun somewhere, hee.
